Modular 03:21
This song started out with that bassline that Greg is playing at the beginning and just went from there. This is the only song he played a 4-string fretless on. All other tracks are on a 6-string fretless. I remember originally recording this song and how his hand started to hurt because we had to play it so many times. Luckily, after 20+ years of listing and playing, I think I recorded the new version of the drums in one or two takes.
2.
We would frequently name things after odd things in our lives. Greg loved the Grilled Chicken Ceasar Salad at Applebee's!
3.
The music from this song also showed up in a slightly different way with vocals on our Waves of Mercury project. But it was called "What I've Been Shown" https://wavesofmercury.bandcamp.com/track/what-ive-been-shown
4.
The Scribble 04:08
The title comes from a practice tape that had the title of this song, but it was just a scribble.... were you expecting something deep?
5.
Never tell anyone that you have a major in Acting, and a minor in English.
6.
This was a song that we did after the trio had broken up...I'm still not sure why we ever did break up? Brandon and I had a project called Casual Observer and this was the song where even Brandon couldn't pull off that kind of bass playing. There was a song called "We're so Confused" and this replaced it for the better!
7.
47° 04:36
The perfect temperature.
8.
We loved that movie!
9.
Apparently, David would "spill the salt" while at the bar we hung out at. For some reason, we felt that that title fit the music.
10.
I can't remember any reason for this title.
11.
This was the title of a foreign film. It seemed to fit the song. Good film, Great Song! Haha!
12.
Pledge Drive 05:30
Greg and David were couriers way back in 1996, and they both listened to MPR pledge drives a lot, and apparently, Greg really liked them!
13.
Rob would be very happy to find a dollar! He still owes me a dollar from 1996 or 97 that I will never let him pay me back.
14.
That title fit.
15.
Gauze 09:35
This song had a different name at one time, which was also another band name, but we changed it to this, and it kind of fits.
16.
Etre Mort 03:41
We originally were only going to do this album and then move on to other projects, hence the original title "Mon ami le plus ancien est mort" which means "My oldest friend is dead." We obviously felt it was not a good title anymore, but this song title seemed fitting still.

about

In 1998 we formed a trio Greg (bass), Brandon (guitar) and David (drums) after listening to King Crimson's "Red" and we were finally on the same page musically.

The first demo tape was called "Same Page" It was eight of these songs, and then when we made a longer cd and it was better, but the recording quality wasn't up to our liking. These were done on 4 & 8 tracks and sounded ok.

We originally were only going to do this album and then move on to other projects, hence the original title "Mon ami le plus ancien est mort" which means "My oldest friend is dead."
We obviously felt it was not a good title anymore, so "Same Page" came back as the title.

We kind of broke up and did other projects, then time passed on and the three of us started our Waves of Mercury project in 2005, which Brandon was part of on the "Great Darkness" album that we finished in 2008.

Brandon passed away in 2008.

In 2021 Greg bought a bass and we were testing it out, but couldn't remember any new music we wrote, but we could play a lot of these songs after 20 yrs. So, Greg went to work learning the guitar parts. These are as close as we could get to playing them like we did in 98, and we even kept some of the original mistakes that made the songs better ... both guitar & drums, there were never mistakes on bass.
